Description
66 Market Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It was built in the late 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from squared coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It features a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with three bays. The facade includes chamfered quoins, and the lintels of the second-floor windows extend as a band beneath a cornice. The windows are fitted with 20th-century casements in plain stone surrounds. The ground floor predominantly features a timber shop front dating from around 1900, which includes a fascia and cornice supported by brackets. To the right of the shop front is a doorway with a plain stone right-hand jamb. There is a chimney located on the right-hand gable.
