Description
The house on the east side of the farmyard at Ringstones, built in 1742, is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof on the house and a slate roof on the barn. The house is two storeys high and has two bays. The windows have plain stone surrounds and flat-faced mullions, with two lights on the left side and three on the right. Between the bays, there is a single-storey gabled porch; the outer door has plain reveals while the inner door features a plain stone surround. Above the porch, there is a plaque inscribed with 'IC[?]G 1742'. The house has coped gables and end chimneys. The rear wall includes windows with flat-faced mullions and a stair window that has one transom. Inside, there is a shouldered stone fireplace. The adjoining barn to the left has a wide entrance with plain reveals and a segmental arch.
