Description
Farrar House, built in 1780, is a two-storey house made of coursed sandstone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. It features a central-entry plan with chimneys at both ends and has two bays. The windows are framed with plain stone surrounds and square mullions; the left side has a three-light window, while the right side has a two-light window on the first floor and a ground-floor window that was originally four lights, retaining one mullion. The entrance door also has a plain stone surround, and above it is an oval plaque with the initials 'IHM'. The date '1780' has been recently re-painted to read '1689'. Adjoining the house to the left is a barn that has two ground-floor windows with plain reveals. Between these windows is a wide entrance featuring a chamfered surround with long-and-short jambs and a segmental arch with a keystone.
