Description
Far Mealbank Farmhouse and the adjoining barn to the east date from the mid-18th century. They are constructed of sandstone rubble and feature a stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high with two bays. The windows have plain stone surrounds and flat-faced mullions, although the frames are modern with glazing bars. The left-hand ground-floor window has been enlarged from two to three lights. There is a door between the bays with a plain stone surround. The farmhouse has chimneys at both ends.
The barn, located immediately to the left of the farmhouse, has a doorway with plain reveals on both floors, with the lower one situated beneath a flight of external stone steps. The main section of the barn projects forward and features a wide entrance with a segmental arch. The left-hand gable of the barn includes three shippon doors, with the left-hand and middle doors now blocked.
