Description
Ridleys is a house, likely built in the mid-18th century, with some remains from the 17th century and alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features scored render with sandstone dressings and a tile roof, arranged in a double-depth plan. The facade has chamfered quoins on the left side. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The windows have stone surrounds with a slight chamfer and modern glazing bars. The central door has a moulded surround and a battlemented lintel inscribed with '1688 RM'. There are end chimneys on the building.
To the right, there is a lower one-bay addition with windows that have plain stone surrounds and a door on the left with a similar surround. On the left, a former barn, now part of the house, projects forward. This section appears to date from the early to mid-19th century and has a wide entrance with a segmental arch and chamfered voussoirs, which is now glazed. There are doors with plain stone surrounds on both the left and right sides, with the left-hand door now blocked.
