Description

The village stocks, whose exact date is uncertain, are located in the corner of the road, 100 meters east of Hill House. They consist of square stone uprights with wooden crossbars that have housings for two pairs of legs. One of the stone uprights, likely the base of a guide post, is dated 1722 and is lettered on three sides with the initials HG (some letters are reversed), OB, and OBL L (??)E ACK EDG BVRN 17022. Remnants of a decayed seat are still present. The stocks are enclosed by circular iron railings.
