Description

Altham Bridge is a canal bridge over the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, built around 1800. It is constructed from coursed sandstone blocks and features an elliptical arch made of rusticated rock-faced voussoirs. The bridge has decorative bands, parapets, and pilastered ends on its walls. On the south side, there are brick abutments that support a large iron pipe crossing the top of the arch.
