Description

A pair of late 18th-century weavers' cottages, likely dating from the late 1700s, forming part of a row of four (though the others have been altered). The cottages are constructed of rendered and painted white, probably with a core of sandstone rubble, and have stone dressings and a slate roof with stone gable and ridge chimneys. Each cottage has a doorway with a decorative case of punched stone, offset to the left. To the right is a loomshop window with three square lights; at No. 2, the third light has been broken by a doorway. A single square ground-floor window is located to the left, and two are at the first floor, all with punched stone cases and altered glazing. The rear wall features matching loomshop windows, although one light at No. 1 has been altered to create a doorway.
