Description
The barn, located approximately 50 metres northeast of Euxton Hall, dates from the 17th century. It is constructed of red sandstone and features a modern sheeted roof. The barn has a rectangular plan with eight bays and includes a later smaller wing attached to the northwest corner.
The south wall has four altered openings and ventilation slits on three levels, while the right gable wall contains an inserted window and ventilation slits on four levels. The left gable wall features a band at eaves level, three square windows at ground floor, a round-headed doorway, and two circular openings above these, along with a square pitching window above the band.
Inside, the barn retains six original roof trusses, with tie beams supported by wall posts and braces, raking struts to the rafters, strutted collars, and kingposts. There are also three tiers of windbraced purlins.
