Description
This is a farmhouse, now divided into three separate dwellings. The main structure dates primarily from the 18th century, though it may incorporate elements from an earlier 17th-century building. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with quoins, and has a stone slate roof. It comprises a central hall range, with recessed gabled wings extending to the left and right.
The front facade features a studded door set within a moulded round-headed architrave, finished with impost blocks, a large triple keystone, and a fanlight with Y-tracery. Above the door is a rectangular window, which has been altered. To the right of the door are king-mullioned windows with 3 lights over 3 lights, featuring square mullions on each floor.
The left wing has a four-light window on each floor, offset to the right, a door at ground floor level (due to the slope of the ground), and a sash window above, all with plain surrounds. The wing has stone gable copings with kneelers. The return wall of this wing has a three-light flush mullion window on the ground floor and a 12-pane sash window above. On each floor of the larger rear bay, there is a six-light square-mullioned window with glazing bars in all lights.
The right wing has a ground-floor doorway which has been altered into a window, and a rectangular window above, both with plain surrounds and glazing bars. This wing also has stone gable copings with kneelers. The rear of the farmhouse includes a recessed four-light window with chamfered mullions at the first floor, which is the only visible feature dating to the 17th century. Numerous ridge chimneys are present. The interior contains fewer notable features.
