Description
Arbory Lodge is a pair of lodges and a gateway to the Huntroyde Demesne, now functioning as a single private house. Built around 1800, it features a later 20th-century extension on the left. The structure is made of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. The two-storey lodges are diamond-planned and symmetrically positioned on either side of the carriageway. Each lodge has a plain two-centred arched opening above a plinth on the ground floor, with a round window above it and a turret at each corner, which is decorated with small battlements and blind arrow-loops. The lodges are connected by a tall two-centred arch, also topped with battlements. The original wrought-iron gates, featuring spear-heads on two levels, are positioned under a fan design.
