Description

Newtown Mill Chimney is a Grade II listed structure built in 1864 by Harling and Todd. It served as the chimney for a former cotton spinning mill. The chimney is made of coursed squared sandstone and is tall, circular, and slightly tapering. At the top, it features a bullnose cavetto-moulded cornice. This chimney is a prominent landmark in the area, visible along the River Calder and from the town centre at Westgate.
