Description
St Ann's Presbytery is a presbytery built between 1862 and 1867 by Edward Welby Pugin. It is constructed from rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. The building has a three-bay, two-storey layout, with a gabled cross wing in the first bay and a single-storey porch in the second bay. This structure is designed in the Gothic Revival style and includes a projecting plinth, ashlar sill, and first-floor bands.
The porch in bay two has a boarded door and a leaded overlight. To the left, there is a canted bay window with sashes that have arched heads, while to the right, there is a tripartite sash window with a hoodmould. A sash window is located within the coped gable of bay one, with a paired sash in bay two and a gabled dormer window in bay three. The roof is steeply pitched and features fishscale bands. There are 20th-century additions to the rear left and right, which connect the presbytery to the church. The building is included for its group value.
