Description
Springvale is a house dating from 1808, built for John Crampton. It is constructed of rendered brick with a slate roof. The house is planned with a double-depth central staircase and has two storeys, plus a single-bay wing to the right. Features include a stone plinth, a dentilled eaves cornice, and gable ridge stacks. A six-panel door is set within a flat-roofed porch supported by Tuscan columns, and topped with an open pediment; this porch was originally from Bowdon Station. Above the door is a single 19th-century sash window. The front of the house has four 16-pane sash windows with stone sills.
