Description
This is a large, detached house built in 1905 as part of the Richardson Estate. Designed by Edgar Wood, it is constructed of brick with a stone slate roof. The house is asymmetrical, with two storeys and a long, single-storey wing extending to the left. The front elevation features twin gables and a projecting, two-storey bay window to the right, containing seven lights. The front door is positioned off-centre and has a stone surround, a flat hood, a segmental lunette above, and a four-light mullioned window above that. Stone copings mark the gables and kneelers. The wing has a projecting, two-storey bay window with seven lights, and a six-light mullioned window. The right-hand elevation is dominated by a central gable containing an eight-light mullion and transom window on the ground floor, flanked by two-storey canted bay windows with dentilled cornices. Original rainwater goods and ironwork are of good quality. The interior was not inspected.
