Description
This is a large detached house, built in 1907-8 by John N Cocker in the Edgar Wood style. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a roof of graduated stone slates. The house is asymmetrical, with two main storeys plus an attic. The front has three bays, with a two-storey, ten-light mullioned bow window in the first bay. The second bay is slightly forward and features a doorway with a fanlight, a recessed brick-arched head, and later additions of a porch and cloakroom. This bay also has a four-light chamfered mullion window on the first floor, where the central two lights are lower than the others. A coped gable with kneelers tops this bay. The third bay has a six-light mullioned window on each floor, with a transom bar to the ground floor. All windows have timber casements with leaded lights. The house has three chimney stacks.
