Description
The Old Hall is a restaurant that was formerly known as Timperley Hall. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed from rendered brick with a slate roof. The building has three storeys and features a five-bay double-depth central-staircase plan, with wings at the rear and on either side, along with 20th-century additions at the back.
The exterior includes a stone plinth and a modillion eaves cornice, with the central three bays slightly projecting. The entrance features a five-panel door with a fanlight, pilasters, and an open pediment. The ground floor windows have been reduced in size, but the window openings remain, although the glazing is from the 20th century. The roof is steep and has gable stacks. Each of the three-bay single-storey wings on either side has two Venetian windows under a semi-circular recess, with the end bays projecting and featuring small coped gables.
