Description
Crown Pole House, now incorporating Crowning Glory Hair Dressers, is a house that dates from the late 18th century and has been adapted for use as a shop. It is constructed from watershot dressed stone and features a slate roof. The building has a double-depth central-entrance plan with two storeys, a two-storey wing at the rear, and the left bay has been converted into a shop. It has a stone plinth and a six-panel door with an overlight and a square-cut surround. There are three 3-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows and a later shop window that was added at the same time as the shop door on the corner. Additionally, there are three 19th-century sash windows on the left gable, along with a similar shop window. The building is topped with a gable chimney stack.
