Description

The Littleborough War Memorial is a war memorial dedicated on 17th June 1922, designed by the architects Bradshaw, Hope and Gass from Bolton. The monument features a York stone obelisk that stands on a square pedestal, which is elevated by a platform made of two wide steps leading to two narrow steps at the base of the pedestal. The front face of the obelisk displays a carved wreath at mid-height and is topped with a stone that has a carved cross in relief on all four sides. At the base of the obelisk, on the front face of the pedestal, there is a granite plaque inscribed with the names of those who fell in the two World Wars. The memorial is situated in a small semi-circular garden in the center of Littleborough.
