Description
Ashbrook Hey is a farmhouse believed to date from 1673. It is constructed from roughly coursed rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building is designed with a two-unit layout and has two storeys, with a central entrance. The house part is located to the right, and there are gable chimney stacks. A later door has been added to both the right and left gables. At the rear, there are rough outbuildings that now adjoin the farmhouse.
The exterior includes stone quoins and features four and six-light double-chamfered mullion windows with hoodmoulds on the ground floor, while the first floor has three and four-light chamfered mullion windows. The door opening is chamfered and topped with a heavy stone lintel. The gables are coped and have kneelers. Additionally, the left gable has two three-light windows and an arched light at the attic level.
