Description
Boots Cottage, located on Bank Top, is a house that has been converted into a garage. It features a lintel dated "1633" and is constructed from hammer-dressed stone, coursed rubble, and watershot stone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building is a 2-bay, single-depth structure with two storeys, and a later barn has been added to the left side. The corners of the house are marked by quoins.
To the right of the building, there is a door with a lintel that has a double-quirked bead and the carved date. On the left side, two garage doors have been inserted. The first floor has two 3-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows. The gable chimney stack has been rebuilt in brick.
The barn features a cart entry with a massive stone lintel, a door to the left, quoins, and a winnowing door at the rear. There are two blocked windows on the gable. The rear of the building shows the remains of a 2-light double-chamfered mullion window and a 2-light flat-faced mullion window.
