Description

The boundary wall surrounding the churchyard of the Church of St Mary was built between 1856 and 1858 by J.S. Crowther. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble and sandstone ashlar. The wall is low, featuring a chamfered plinth and steeply-pitched weathered coping, and it curves around the corners of the churchyard. At the west end, there are small cast-iron gates, although the former railings are missing.
