Description
The Murray Monument is a table tomb located in the churchyard of St Mark in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, dating from around 1818. It is made of stone and commemorates Adam Murray. Currently, the stone plinth is in place, while the rest of the monument is in storage awaiting restoration. The previous listing description notes that a long inscription on the sarcophagus details how Adam Murray improved the spinning mule and established a factory in Manchester for yarn spinning.
