Description

The Mount is an early 19th-century house, now converted into two flats. It is located on Wythynshawe Road, Northenden, Manchester. The house is constructed of red brick with a slate roof, and follows a staggered double-pile plan, created by the addition of a parallel range to the rear and an offset left wing. The south front is three windows wide and two stories high, featuring three sashed windows on each floor. Most windows have 16 panes, except for the centre window on the first floor, which has 12 panes. Gable chimneys are present. The original entrance was located in the right-hand gable wall, but is now concealed by a 20th-century porch. The rear elevation includes a lean-to and a rear wall with a segmental-headed door and segmental-headed top-hung casements designed to imitate sashed windows. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
