Description

The churchyard wall surrounding the north, west, and east sides of the Church of St Wilfrid in Northenden is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed sandstone blocks and features ashlar gate piers with wrought-iron overthrow. The square gate piers are designed with banded rustication and moulded caps, topped with an ogee-shaped overthrow that includes a square lamp-holder. There is a gateway located on the west side of the wall.
