Description

This is a terrace of four townhouses, now used as offices, built in the late 18th century and altered over time. The buildings are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with some sandstone detailing and a slate roof. The layout is double-depth, with No. 11 being double-fronted and the others single-fronted, featuring various extensions at the back.

The terrace rises three storeys above cellars and has a symmetrical facade with 14 bays. It includes a plinth, a first-floor sill band, a plain frieze, and a modillioned cornice. No. 11 consists of five bays, while the other houses each have three bays. The doorways are regularly spaced between pairs of windows and are round-headed, featuring set-in doorcases with slender engaged Ionic columns and Greek-key friezes, along with semi-circular fanlights. The fanlights at Nos. 11 and 13 have elegant curvilinear tracery, while the others are plain.

The windows are primarily four-pane sashes, except for those on the second floor, which are six-pane sashes with shallow upper leaves. The first-floor windows have shallow panelled aprons, and all windows have raised sills and flat-arched heads. The roof is topped with large lateral chimney stacks that cross the ridge. At the rear, No. 11 features a curved stair-turret illuminated by a large round-headed window with intersecting glazing bars. The interiors have not been inspected. This terrace matches the style of Nos. 21 to 25 nearby.
