Description
No. 10 St John Street is a town house that has been converted into consulting rooms. It was built in the late 18th century and has undergone some alterations. The building is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond, although the top floor appears to have been rebuilt. The roof is not visible.
The house has a double-depth, single-fronted plan with an enlarged back extension. It stands three storeys tall over cellars and features three bays. The exterior includes a plinth, a plain frieze, and a restored modillioned cornice. To the right, there is a round-headed doorway with an open-pedimented Tuscan doorcase, a panelled door, and a semi-circular fanlight. The windows are 12-pane sashed with exposed boxes, raised sills, and flat-arched heads. There are chimneys located to the left in front and behind the ridge. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of a terrace on the north side of the street.
