Description
Nos. 6 and 8, known as The Starkies, are 18th century buildings that were once part of a coaching inn and have been remodeled at various times. They are constructed of red brick and stand two storeys tall. The street front features four windows, arranged irregularly: the leftmost window is louvred, the second is a sash window with glazing bars, and the other two are in an advanced section of No. 8. To the right of No. 2, there is a 1½-storey return wing with one window set in a blind elliptical arch. The left-hand return front of No. 6 displays two gables with projecting eaves and an advanced ground storey that includes a doorway from around 1800. This doorway features a moulded and fielded panel door set in a case with consoles and delicate Gothic panels. The garden front of No. 6 is symmetrical and has three glazing bar sash windows.
