Description

This is a late 18th-century building, altered in the 19th century, located on Stand Lane in Woodley. It is constructed of handmade red brick and presents a symmetrical facade with five sash windows. The arched doorway, likely framed in the 19th century, is accentuated by Tuscan columns and a cornice hood, with double doors that are partly glazed and feature a plain fan. Moulded eaves are present. The low-hipped slate roof is punctuated by chimneys at each end and one at the foot of the front pitch to the right of the middle window. An additional, original 18th-century section is located on the left side of the building and features one altered window and a hipped roof. The building was divided into two dwellings in the 20th century; the left-hand dwelling (No 300) has moulded cornices, 6-panel doors, and panelled shutters. The ground floor front room contains a mantelpiece with panels above and to the sides, decorated with motifs of birds, vases, and leaves, as well as a double pilastered recess.
