Description

A terrace of eight houses built in the early to mid-19th century, located on the south side of Belmont Road, Bolton. The houses are constructed from squared and watershot coursed stone with a graded slate roof. They follow a double-depth plan set at right angles to the street, with each house being single-fronted, except for number 2 at the east end, which has a double frontage. The houses have two storeys and a nine-window front, comprising seven single-unit-plan dwellings, along with number 2, which incorporates a shop. They feature plain doorways and four-pane sash windows with wedge lintels on each floor. While the windows at numbers 10-16 retain their original four-pane sashes, the glazing in the other houses has been altered. Ridge chimneys are present, along with a gable chimney at the west end. Number 2 has a doorway within its gable wall and a renewed or inserted shop window. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
