Description

Brookfield Farmhouse is a farm house dating from 1691, as carved on the doorhead. It is constructed of stone with a brick gable and a machine tile roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a wing to the north. A moulded string course runs at first floor level. There is an original stone mullion window at the ground floor in the west gable, while the facade features sash windows on the ground floor and modern casements in the front gabled dormer and at the first floor in the west gable. The original entrance has been filled in, over which are the date and initials TPP, and a new entrance has been provided. The east gable is made of brick, and the stacks have been extended in brickwork above the original stone chimneys.
