Description
This is a short terrace of two houses, originally built in the later 18th century as two cottages and a larger house. The front facing the street is made of English garden wall bond orange brick, set on a natural sandstone base. The roof is slate, and there are three brick chimneys. The west front has seven bays and is two stories high. The left four bays were originally a pair of cottages, featuring wooden casement windows with three lights on the ground floor, and two-light casement windows above. The windows are topped with cambered brick arches. Two doorways are present on this side, one of which has been blocked. The three-bay house section has casement windows with segmental brick arches above, and a central half-glazed door approached by stone steps, also under a brick arch. The property is picturesquely situated up an alley behind the main street. It is listed for group value.
