Description

Number 86 and its attached outbuilding are a late 17th and early 18th century house and store, with a roof raised in the early 19th century. The house is constructed from buff sandstone rubble with heavy quoins to the ground floor and irregular orange brickwork to the upper floor, built upon a natural rock outcrop. The roof is covered in Welsh slate and features two gable brick chimneys. The front of the house has two 2-light wooden casement windows with rectangular leaded lights, all set within shallow segmental brick arches. A board door is located at the right-hand end, approached by two steps. To the left is a lower outbuilding, partly constructed from stone blocks and mainly of orange brick. A blocked doorway has been replaced with a small window, and there are two diamond-shaped ventilation patterns above. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
