Description
28 and 30 King Street are a pair of cottages, likely originating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are constructed of painted brick in an irregular bond and feature a grey slate roof that runs parallel to the street. The cottages are one and a half storeys tall and lack a plinth. The front includes a door with two recessed panels above two flush panels, along with two mullioned and transomed three-light casements that have leaded glazing in the side lights, and a four-pane fixed light on the first storey. There are two additional three-light casements in gabled half-dormers, and a nearly flush twelve-pane unequal sash window further to the west. The building displays exposed rafters and flush verges, and there is an added recessed one-storey wing on the west side. A large brown-brick chimney is located at the center of the ridge, with a smaller chimney to the west, positioned in front of the ridge. The rear of the cottages features three-light casements that are horizontally proportioned. The interior has not been inspected.
