Description
22 King Street is a town house, probably built around 1800. It features a brown brick façade in Flemish bond and a grey slate roof that runs parallel to the street. The building has three storeys and lacks a plinth. The entrance door consists of four fielded panels and includes a two-pane overlight, framed by a wooden doorcase with a small hood. Each storey has two flush four-pane sash windows with painted stone sills. The first and second storey windows are adorned with rusticated wedge lintels that have drop keystones. The lower windows are proportioned according to the golden section, while the third storey windows are less than square. A fascia board runs along the flush eaves.
At the rear, the building is rendered, and some features have been replaced. There is a two-storey outshut with a lean-to roof, and the openings have camber-arched heads. The first storey has a replaced door and window, while the second storey features two nearly flush four-pane sashes. Above the outshut roof, the third storey has a casement window with three two-pane lights set in a half-dormer. The interior has not been inspected.
