Description
No. 16 King Street is a small town house that has been largely rebuilt, although the front façade facing King Street likely dates from around 1840. The building is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond and stands three storeys high with one bay. It features a rendered plinth, and the entrance door has two glazed panels above four fielded panels. The windows have painted sills and gauged brick heads, with nearly flush sashes: one window with 16 panes on the first storey, a tripartite window with 4, 12, and 4 panes on the second storey, and a 6-pane sash on the third storey. The rear of the building has a gabled roof above a two-storey extension with a lean-to roof. Most of the features have been renewed, including nearly flush horned sashes—one on the first storey and two on the second storey. Above the lean-to roof, the third storey has a casement window with three 2-pane lights under a cambered head and a flush verge. The interior has not been inspected.
