Description
No. 8 King Street is a town house that likely dates from around 1830 and was restored in the 1970s. The building is rendered, with the lower storey lined, and features a grey slate roof that is hipped at the front, with the ridge running at right angles to the street. It stands three storeys high and has one bay. The facade includes a plain plinth and a door made up of six fielded panels topped with a radial-bar fanlight. The first storey has a recessed sash window with slender glazing bars, while the second storey features a stone floor band and two replaced horned 12-pane recessed sashes, along with one on the third storey. A moulded cornice completes the design. The rear of the building is also rendered and includes a five-panel door, with a replaced flush 12-pane horned sash window on each storey and a full-width parapet gable. The interior has not been inspected.
