Description
Darley Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century and early 18th century. It is constructed of red Flemish bond brick and has a 20th-century pantile roof. The building has three storeys and a T-shaped plan. The entrance front, which forms the cross-stroke of the T, dates from the early 18th century and has been later refaced. It features three bays, with a central doorway that has a 20th-century chamfered quoin surround and a 20th-century glazed door. There is a 19th-century gabled porch supported on brackets, with windows on either side that have three panes by four panes, along with 20th-century tile sills and wedged heads with keystones. The first and second floors each have three similar windows with three panes by three panes. To the right of the farmhouse is a driftway and an outhouse, which are not of special interest. At the rear, there is a projecting two-storey wing at the centre. Inside, the kitchen features chamfered beams and a sandstone plinth, indicating possible remnants of a baffle entry plan. The sitting room and bar also have more chamfered beams.
