Description

Number 73 Street is a shop with living accommodation, and two probable former courtyard cottages at the rear, now a shop and three flats. The front of the building dates to approximately the 1840s, while the rear wing appears to be of uncertain earlier origin, with no datable features visible. The front elevation is constructed of rough Flemish bond brown brick, painted, and features a slate roof which is hipped at the front. The building comprises three storeys at the front, and a single storey with attics at the rear. A modern shopfront is present. There is one sixteen-pane flush sash window on each storey above. The rear wing has no features of architectural interest, but is a notable survival of courtyard housing in Chester. The interior contains no visible features of interest.
