Description

The engine shed and pump house at Lion Salt Works, built around 1900, is constructed from brick and timber. This simple building features a square brick chimney and houses a steam engine that powered a beam pump used to raise brine. It is historically significant as it is part of the only remaining inland open-pan saltworks in England.
