Description

The sundial in front of Stapleford Hall is a later 18th-century structure made of red sandstone ashlar. It features three circular steps with nosed treads that support a column baluster, which is decorated with an acanthus border around the base and topped with an Ionic capital, although the volutes are damaged. The original setting for an octagonal plate has been replaced by a smaller, more recent example. This sundial is listed for its group value with the hall.
