Description

A pair of small town houses dating from 1855, located on George Street in Chester. The houses are built with Flemish bond brown brick and have a grey slate roof. They are in a Late Georgian style. Number 26 is double-fronted. The front door consists of six fielded panels within a simple pilaster case, topped with a frieze and cornice hood. The windows are recessed 12-pane sashes, with painted stone sills and wedge lintels; one window is on the ground floor of number 24, and two windows are on the ground floor of number 26. The first floor of number 24 has two windows, while number 26 has one window on each side of a sandstone panel inscribed "EH:J:1855." The interiors have not been inspected.
