Description

This larger L-shaped farmbuilding at Huntington Old Hall dates from the late 18th century, with an early 19th-century addition. It is constructed of Flemish bond orange brick set on a stone plinth, featuring a roof that is partly covered with Welsh slate and partly with concrete tiles. The building has a long west front, which includes nine rebated, semi-circular headed doorways that lead to feeding passages situated between pairs of shippons. Above these doorways are two circular pitch holes with stone sills and three larger rectangular openings that have been inserted. The smaller south range is an addition that resembles the main structure but has been somewhat altered. Inside, the layout remains intact, showcasing pointed fading openings for each pair of stalls, along with large brick arches in the barn area above.
