Description
The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage, now a house, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of red English garden wall bond brick and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys, a basement, and an attic.
The entrance front has three bays arranged symmetrically, with a central projecting bay that includes a round-arched doorway. This doorway has a panelled sunken door surround and a fanlight above, along with a door that has six raised and fielded panels. Above the doorway, there is a first-floor window with three panes by four panes, featuring a stone sill and a wedge lintel. The lateral windows on both the ground and first floors are similar in style. A moulded and painted cornice runs along the top of the wall, and there is a pediment above the central bay that contains a Diocletian window.
To the left of the main entrance is a slightly recessed single-storey lean-to with a ramped blank wall and stone coping. At the rear, the building maintains a similar three-bay arrangement, but the ground floor doorway has been replaced by a window of the same format. There are also 20th-century soil pipes that are asymmetrically placed, though these are not of special interest.
