Description

The lychgate to the churchyard of St Mary and All Saints, located on the south side of High Street in Great Budworth, was built in 1920 as a First World War Memorial. It features an oak frame with a red sandstone plinth and a stone-slate roof. The design includes open small-framing made of large-section timbers, an oak crucifix at the front gable, and ornate cusped bargeboards. On the inner face of each plinth wall, there are bronze plates that commemorate the parishioners who served in the Forces during the First World War, listing 305 men and 4 women, as well as the 28 men who died.
