Description

Two adjoining cottages date from the 17th century and have been altered since. The front is pebbledashed, likely over an oak frame, with a repaired oak-framed gable on the left. The roof is of clay tile. The cottages are one storey high with attics; each has one window on the lower floor. There are three gabled dormers with oak-framed fronts, characteristic of the later 19th-century Arley estate style. The doors are boarded, with ornate hinges also of the Arley estate pattern. The left gable contains a tie-beam, collar, and close studding. A flush gable chimney of brick, with a plinth and attached diagonal flues, is likely from the later 19th century, constructed for Rowland Egerton Warburton. The interiors were not inspected.
