Description
The Bridge Lock on the canal link from the River Dee to Chester Basin is a broad lock built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from brick and sandstone and features two pairs of timber and steel lock-gates. The lock chamber has brick walls, with sandstone copings, pavement, and corners for the recesses of the lower gates. Additionally, there are stone-coped retaining walls at the lower entrance to the lock. The Raymond Street bridge, which is not included in this listing, spans the lock.
