Description

Harop Green Farmhouse is a mid-to-late 17th century farmhouse, now a house, located off Whitecroft Heath Road, Withington. It is constructed of timber framing with brick infill, using a red English garden wall bond brick pattern, and covered by a slate roof.

The north side of the house features corner posts to the gable ends and angle braces. A queen-post truss is visible in the gable, incorporating vertical struts to the sides and a V-strut above. A wall is recessed to the left of the truss, with a post to its left. A 19th century addition is situated to the left of this. The right-hand side displays corner posts to the left and centre, supporting a wall plate; brick walling is present to the right of this. All windows are of 20th century date.

The interior of the farmhouse includes chamfered ceiling beams to the ground floor rooms, with large framed walling and wattle and daub infill. The roof is supported by queen-post trusses.
