Description
Pitt Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century, with early 19th-century additions and alterations. It features timber framing with brick infill, red English garden wall bond brick, and a stone and slate roof. The original 17th-century layout consists of two cells, which were extended in the 19th century, and the building is two storeys high.
The entrance front, which is entirely from the early 19th century, has three bays. There is a door to the left of centre, flanked by 3-light splayed cambered-headed casement windows on either side and to the right. The first floor has three similar windows with flat lintels. The stone slate roof completes this façade.
At the rear, there are four by three cells of 17th-century timber framing to the left of centre, featuring an angle brace. A 19th-century extension is located to the left of this, while 19th-century outhouses to the right obscure the lower portion of the timber framing. The interior has not been inspected.
