Description
Stowford Lodge is a house dated 1879, constructed of red English garden wall bond brick with a plain tile roof. It is a single-storey building. The entrance front features a projecting gabled wing on the right side, which has a lean-to porch with a 20th-century door and timber framing in the half gable. The projecting wing includes a canted wooden bay window at the center. The gable is jettied and supported by moulded wooden brackets resting on brick corbels. It is decorated with timber framing, strapwork, and pies, and displays the date, the Crewe arms, and two letters C that are addorsed and entwined. A four-flue chimney stack is positioned at the meeting of the ridges. On the left side, there is a similar timber-framed gable, which is less jettied, featuring a three-light window on the ground floor. This building is noted for its group value.
